MARKET REPORT FOR SEPTEMBER

A lovely blend of summer and autumn produce this month.

For fruit, English apples and pears are on track for a strong harvest. Damsons and other plums are in good nick. We’re loving the French figs that are coming through; Turkish a few steps behind. Muscat grapes are always a classy choice; main Greek harvest now ready. Spanish mangoes have just started, a lovely reminder of all that sunshine. Italian fig leaf is popular - excellent infused into gelato.

Nuts include the first wet walnuts and British cobnuts. Weird and wonderful roots now available, including parsley and chervil root.

Amazing brassicas from our friend Ben on the Isle of Wight. A fantastic range of squashes available.
