MARKET REPORT FOR NOVEMBER

A lovely month - with great new produce coming on stream.

Citrus is very strong, with lovely Portuguese leafy Navel oranges, leafy clems and specialist lines such as cedro, bergamot, pink lemons, Meyer lemons, Buddha’s Hands etc. We are also just taking delivery of very rare Baches citrus such as green yuzu and sudachi.

UK produce is all about the brassicas. Phenomenal Romanesco, kales, Cavolo Nero, sprouts and tops. It is a good month for Rainbow Chard, too.

French winter salad leaves include chicory, red chicory, barbucine, pissenlit, red lambs lettuce, winter purslane. Italian radicchios include Tardivo.

Vassout apples and pears are exceptional.

Roots include helianthis, crosnes, parsley, chervil, salsify.

Terrific wild mushrooms - including porcini, trompette, pied de mouton, chanterelle.
