MARKET REPORT FOR JULY

Fruit is star of the show: melons of all kinds including wax-tipped Zerbinatti, Annabel’s strawberries, blush apricots, green and red gooseberries. Italian figs.

Beans include Borlotti, flat white and Coco.

Excellent courgettes: round, Romano, yellow, flowers etc.

Dazzling array of tomatoes including our favourite outdoor-grown heritage varieties from Cailloux.

Specialties include green almonds, last of wild asparagus, UK purple kohl rabi.
