Ben Cartwright Rejoins Le Marché


We are thrilled that Ben Cartwright has rejoined our team. Ben has been a key figure in Le Marché since the launch of the company in 2017. Ben has huge experience in the industry and his product knowledge is second to none.

Food and hospitality has always been part of his life. Ben’s parents owned pubs and he worked for Oakleaf European for thirteen years from 2004 - a company that imported fresh produce from Rungis. More recently, Ben has opened a delicatessen back in Bournemouth. "It all began with my love of Rungis ,” says Ben, “finding products that you couldn't find here and bringing them to London."

Ben recalls a pivotal moment when his customer Brett Graham, chef at The Ledbury, accepted his delivery then insisted Ben sit down in the restaurant. The chef then cooked dish after dish for him. “I really understood then how my role is essential to what he puts on the plate. That was the trigger to find the best of the best.”
