MARKET REPORT FOR JULY 2024

Scottish girolle have now arrived - the best of the best.

Beans include UK runners, peas and broad beans. From Europe, Borlotti, yellow and Coco.

Fantastic stone fruit is abundant. For the first time, we can offer Kentish-grown peaches . Also from Europe we have white, yellow and blood peaches with Mirabelle and greengages to come. Plenty of good English and Belgian cherries. Apricots with a deep blush.

Lovely green figs from Italy and France. French black figs will start in August. Fig leaves also available.

For the melons, Charentais is the best eating at the moment with Zerbinatti from Italy a close second.

For grapes, we have Prima - the first French grape variety of the season.

Asparagus is all but over.

For nuts, we have green almonds from France and green walnuts from Potash Farm in Kent. French cobnuts later this month with UK to follow.

For veg, we recommend leafy celeriac, corn on the cob, UK purple sprouting.

Summer squashes will start later this month.
